"Just a few years ago, the level of wellness and clinical support Women's Lunch Place now provides to its guests was unimaginable," Jennifer Hanlon Wigon writes in the Boston Business Journal.

"Their collective efforts have transformedand savedtheir lives."

Wigon is the executive director of Women's Lunch Place, a Boston nonprofit that serves more than 100,000 meals a year to homeless and at-risk women, many of whom struggle with substance abuse, the Boston Globe reports.

The organization has also expanded its addiction recovery services to include peer support, mental health services, nutrition, medical care, and more.

"Hanlon Wigon is deeply committed to elevating the voices of women as experts on their own gendered trauma and unique needs," the Globe quotes a statement from the National Women's Shelter Network as saying.

"As a spokesperson herself, Hanlon Wigon is deeply committed to elevating the voices of women as experts on their own gendered trauma and unique needs."
