Swiss Re is putting its money where its mouth is in Southeast Asia.

The insurance giant is launching its Shine social entrepreneurship program in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand, hoping to tap into the region's " dynamic blend of rapid economic growth while being susceptible to pressing issues like climate change and barriers to healthcare," per a Swiss Re press release.

The program, which Swiss Re launched in India last year, offers early-stage social entrepreneurs with a grant and access to Swiss Re's expertise, as well as business advice and coaching to help them scale their initiatives for impact, per the press release.

The winner of the six-month program, which starts in January, will receive up to $48,000 to help kickstart their businesses.

" Southeast Asia is a crucial market for the insurance industry, marked by a dynamic blend of rapid economic growth while being susceptible to pressing issues like climate change and barriers to healthcare," says Victor Kuk, CEO of Swiss Re Asia.

"We are confident in their ability to guide the next generation of early-stage and build resilient societies."
